Hi, I’m Ruth! I’m a proud Northerner (East Yorkshire born & bred!), clean beauty & skincare addict, Musical Theatre nerd, wannabe yogi, plant lover and advocate for all things sustainable. I’m currently based in Buckinghamshire, UK (which is just outside of London, for any non-Brits!).
I first discovered clean beauty in 2017, through an online article. Before that, I hadn’t thought much about the ingredients in my beauty products or the impact they could be having on the world around me, as well as my own health. When I started to delve into the world of clean beauty I was fascinated, but I felt as though I’d never be able to afford to switch my products for cleaner or more eco-friendly alternatives as they seemed to cost a lot more than I was used to paying (and everybody knows a Northerner loves a bargain, naturally!). Through research and trial-and-error, I discovered that there are affordable products out there and that – more often than not – great quality, long lasting products are worth the investment. I wanted to share my findings and encourage people – particularly those who, like myself, don’t have a large budget – to choose products that would be healthier both for themselves and the environment, so in January 2018, Naturally Northern Beauty was born.
My interest in clean beauty led me to explore ways to be more sustainable in other areas of my life and so, over time, Naturally Northern Beauty has grown and evolved to incorporate more aspects of my journey to make conscious choices. On my blog, you can expect to find clean beauty reviews, as well as other sustainable lifestyle posts covering a variety of bases including home, fashion, health, wellness and more!
Thanks for joining me on my ever-evolving sustainability journey!
