I was very excited to receive my first ever LoveLula Beauty Box last week, and boy was it a good’un! I decided to sign up as I’d heard it was great value for money, and I thought it would be a fun way to try out some new products and brands without having to splurge too much cash.
Here’s what was included in this month’s box, and my thoughts on each product so far:
- PHB Ethical Beauty Brightening Eye Gel with Eyebright & Neroli: This is the product I’ve had the most use out of so far; I was looking to incorporate an eye cream into my routine, so I was really chuffed that this was included! I’ve only been using this for a few days, so can’t really see any physical improvement yet… however, the gel feels really refreshing and soothing to apply, and definitely makes my eyes feel a lot brighter in the morning! It also has a really pleasant orangey smell, and you only need to apply a little blob to each eye, so this little 15ml tube should last me a long time. This eye gel is available to purchase individually from LoveLula, for £16.95. PHB (which stands for “Pure. Handmade. British.”) products are certified vegan and cruelty-free; they also donate 20% of their profits to charity!
- Madara Time Miracle Total Renewal Night Cream (20ml Sample): As I’m only in my early-20’s, this isn’t really a product for which I’m the target market, however I thought there’s no harm in me making use of this sample anyway… I don’t have a specific night cream at the moment, so this has been a welcome addition to my routine until next pay day when I can afford to splurge a bit on the White Rabbit Night Cream I’ve been dying to try! I was surprised on first use that when the product came out of the tube it was green, however it smells fairly pleasant (sort of grassy) and feels quite luxurious to apply. It does leave a bit of a green hue on your skin (which makes you look a bit pasty) until it has fully absorbed, however as it’s intended to be used at night, this shouldn’t really be an issue! I haven’t noticed any particularly positive effects on my skin, however as I say, I’m not really the target market. The full-size bottle is 50ml, and is available to purchase at LoveLula for £42; it’s certified organic, vegan and cruelty-free.
- Laidbare “Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!” Hair Minimising Moisturiser: This is definitely one of those products that I’d be inclined to be pretty sceptical about, however I was willing to give it a try! I’ve not been using it long enough to know yet if it really does what it says on the tin, however I’ve certainly enjoyed using it so far for the smell (it smells like an ice lolly or some kind of summery cocktail!) and the fact that it makes my skin feel really soft and moisturised. I’m also super impressed with the value of this product (a 125ml tube is available from LoveLula for £6.99!), plus it’s cruelty-free.
- MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion with Peppermint & Fennel: This is my favourite of the products in this month’s box, and a favourite amongst other members of the LoveLula Natural Beauty Club on Facebook, too. It was a huge bargain to get this in the box, as it costs £27.50 when purchased individually at LoveLula! I love the packaging design; the little bottle would look gorgeous in any bathroom! I found using the bath potion really invigorating; I usually feel really sluggish and sleepy after a bath, but I used this on a Sunday morning and was raring to go afterwards! It also left my skin feeling soft and leaves you feeling all tingly for a while after you get out of the bath! You only need to use 2 or 3 cap-fulls (I’d recommend only using 2, as the smell of fennel was a little bit overpowering using 3), so I expect thebottle will last me a long time. MOA (which stands for Magic Organic Apothecary) are an English company; I especially love the aesthetic of their products (makes me want to fill my bathroom with everything!) and that their packaging is mostly UK-sourced and recycled. Many of MOA’s products are vegan, and they are all cruelty-free.
Although this is only my first LoveLula box, I’m really impressed with the value and so glad I signed up! A recurring monthly contract (which you can cancel at any time) costs £13.95 a month; the value of this month’s box if buying all the items separately would be £71 (as I mentioned earlier, the MOA Bath Potion alone is worth £27.50), so definitely an absolute bargain! I can’t wait to see what’s included in next month’s box!
