It’s been SO long since I last did a Tried & Tested post (my last one was back in May, eeeek!), but I’ve discovered some amazing new products over the last few months that I’m eager to share my thoughts on! Let’s take a look:

- Madara City CC Cream: I mentioned it briefly in my Black Friday at LoveLula post, but really wanted to go into more detail about the City CC Cream because it is honestly one of the best green beauty products I’ve ever used! I never used to wear makeup to work everyday, but have recently been pairing this with a swipe of mascara just to give me a bit more of a healthy glow, especially with it being winter! It also works brilliantly as a base under mineral foundation when I’m wearing full makeup. It contains SPF15 and is scientifically proven to shield your skin from pollutants, meaning it’s a great alternative to going makeup free while still maintaining that “no makeup” look! It’s also super easy to apply if you’re rushed in the morning; I just pop three blobs on my fingertips and blend it into my complexion, over the top of my SPF moisturiser. It’s definitely converted me to a daily makeup routine – even if it is only a very basic one – and it’s something I know I’ll repurchase again and again!
- Myroo Body Polish: I was lucky enough to win a huge Instagram giveaway from Style the Sustainable and Beyond London before Christmas, and this Myroo Body Polish was one of the many goodies I received! Myroo are a Yorkshire-based brand, so naturally I was dying to try their range, but hadn’t had chance until I received this. With the invigorating, citrusy scent of May Chang, this scrub was right up my street and I’m gutted to say I’ve already polished it off (pun intended) because I couldn’t help myself from reaching for it almost every time I got in the shower! I also absolutely love Myroo’s new branding and the chunky glass jar this scrub comes in; I’m keeping it to store homemade coffee scrub! At £22, I would definitely consider buying this for myself as a treat and think it would also make an awesome gift!
- Lavera Basis Sensitiv Cleansing Gel: I picked up this cleansing gel from LoveLula in their Black Friday sale; I love that they stock a wide range of Lavera products as they’re such fantastic value! I also think they’d be fab starter products for anyone transitioning into green beauty, as they’re available in a format you’d recognise from your mainstream beauty aisle (e.g. roll-on deodorants, squeezy body lotion etc.), plus there’s nothing too fancy or overwhelming. I always like to have a simple gel or cream cleanser on my bathroom shelf, as there are so many occasions when I need to dash out of the house and don’t have the time it takes to use a cleansing balm! This particular one is really lovely as it has a light, fresh lemony scent and is really gentle; it’s a great everyday cleanser that I will certainly buy again!
- Honeypie Minerals Makeup: Another one of the amazing prizes in the Style the Sustainable x Beyond London giveaway was a selection of goodies from Honeypie Minerals. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll probably know that I mostly use powder-based mineral makeup, so these have been a really welcome addition to my collection. The Multi-Tasking Pearlescent Powder has probably been my favourite so far, with the Pink Rose Blusher taking a close second! I also received two eyeshadows in Charcoal Grey and Smokey Black, which are gorgeous and really highly-pigmented. I love that Honeypie products are handmade in small batches and are all really affordable, too!
What have been your favourite new discoveries lately? Let me know in the comments below!

I keep reading good reviews about Madara City CC Cream but it’s something that I haven’t tried yet. Now I am really intrigued and definitely want to try this cream that everyone is talking about! One product that I discovered recently that I am really loving is a natural shampoo for oily hair from Essentially Nature. It’s really good! (full review is on my blog, if interested)
Definitely give it a go… it’s my favourite thing at the moment! And you don’t have to use much for it to be effective!
Oh lovely… I’ll definitely take a look on your blog! In fact I almost bought their shampoo & conditioner the other day from LoveLula, but opted to try something else in the end!

Great products you have here 🙂 Congrats on winning the giveaway, l am so pleased for you. MyRoo and Honey Pie minerals are definitely the brands I want to try this year. Also, I think I should give Madara another try – I have the same product. I *think* it broke me out, and I haven’t touched it ever since, because soon after another great product came into my life in a form of W3LL People Biotint moisturiser, have you tried it?
Thanks Renata! I was so chuffed to win 🙂
It’s really great… ooh I haven’t tried anything from W3LL people yet, but I’ll certainly take a look!
